The school was located on Walnut Street andSecond Street and the majority of the buildingburned down for unknown reasons in 1967. Allthat remained after the fire was the gymnasium.Above: The first Bloomington High School,known as Central High School, was built in 1873and cost $52,000. It had only 12 classrooms andwas designed to hold all the students of Bloom-ineton.I would go back to the old lunchtables with the actual chairs.
