Description: By Regina HarligEach issue of the Optimist comesout as a result of much planning,desigrirg, and writing. Hours are spentduring school and on work nights tocome up with the final product. Butall the time that is put in is worth itwhen the final product comestogether. Its a lot of hard work,but you have a definite feeling ofaccomplishment after you do it,sophomore Oriane Robison said.The Optimist staff was made up ofmostly younger members, but theeditors still hoped to keep up thequality of previous years. Wevealways put out a really high qualitypaper. I want to maintain that levelof quality, senior Evann Smith,co-editor in chief, said. Senior CharitySears, co-editor in chief, recognizedthe challenges of having a youngstaff. Id like for them to gainexperience...Its just been kind of abuilding year.In addition to all the hard work,there was also time for joking aroundand creating new friendships.Sophomore Nick Melloan-Ruiz said,Everyone gets along really well...Wecan have a good time but stillaccomplish things. Sophomore MattTucci described his goals when hesaid, I just want to write goodstories and have fun. The Optimistproved to be the perfect place forsuch goals to be reached.ISophomores Oriane Robison and CourtneyBiddle stuff inserts into the paper. The staffdid this before each issue was distributed.With a volume of back-issues on hand for quick reference, sophomore MattTucci edits a story. Tucci served his first year on staff as news editor. The9ls on staff joked about marrying him for his last name.Sophomore Nathan Brewer peruses an issue of TheHerald Times for ideas. Described as versatile, BrewergjgTheOplini^l 43
