Parentsand fans decorated the gym withballoons and signs to make the eveningespecially memorable.;t=The Big GameThe Setup:Sectional at Columbus East, Saturday, March 4th.The Hype:Competing with top programs such asColumbus North, Columbus East and cross-townrival Bloomington North, the team knew they mustplace in the top three to advance to Regional.Doing the splits, sophomore Allie Davis focuses on herfloor routine in a meet versus Center Grove. This wasDavis first year on the varsity squad. The Unraveling:All of the girls did well, making it to Regional asa team, even with the odds against them.TheThoughts:Why was this meet so important? It was an important meet and probably themost stressful because in order to make it toRegional we had to hit every event, and it couldhave been my last meet ever, senior EmmyMalinovsky said. What are your thoughts on making it to Regional?I dont think many of the other teams expectedus to go on to Regional, but it was a goal of ours allseason. We had to work extremely hard afterlosing four varsity members from last yearsSectional team. Im really glad we made it back toRegional, and I believe our performances weresome of our best all season, sophomoreKathleen Marvin said.201 |
