The 200 and 400 freestylerelay teams that consisted ofVanDerWege, seniors AbbeyMartin and Jesse Heistand andjunior Leslie Schaffer competed atState finishing 20th in both events.The 200 relay time was less thanfive tenths of a second off theschool record.I thought we did really well atState. Imissed some of the simple divesthat I have been hitting all year, buta top eight finish is always good,Sonneborn said. coming on strongThe team improved their timesfrom the regular season in allevents except two at Sectional.They went on to finish secondbehind Bloomington North.Our team had many ups anddowns throughout the season, butas a whole we worked as hard aspossible for Sectional. I think wedeserved first place. Personally, Iimproved in all my events andwas very surprised.
