tHE PANTHER HARRIERS OFCOACH MARSHALL GOSS WENTTHROUGH A WINNING SEASONin the fall of 1973. Their capabilitieswere evidenced by high finishes inthe sectional, where the team tookfirst, and in the regional, wherefifth place was captured. The Panthers also won the South CentralConference championship.Top runners, in Coach Gosssopinion, were senior B-man JimRiggins, who established a schoolrecord of 12:41 in the 21/2-mile run;junior captain Tod Stone; and sophomore Francis Tomasic.The reserve and freshman teamswere successful in preparing forvarsity competition. The reserves tooktwo of four dual meets and werevictorious in a triangular meet.The freshman harriers placed firstover Seymour in their only dualmeet and took first in the Southport,Bloomington, and Columbus Invita-tionals in the freshman division.TOP: Todd Posson stretches out before adual meet.
