We get together in thehotel, and talk about the season.We tried to go to sleep, but weended staying up really late in ourrooms, junior Jennifer Evans said.rugged pitchThe team ran six out of 14 meetsat Batchelor Middle School, theirhome course. The course is thesecond hardest in the state.We would go there everyMonday night. We would have hillworkouts and speed workouts.Hoss hill is a really big and hardhill there. Its definitely the hardestpart of the course, sophomoreMackenzie Smith said.bathroom trickeryBefore senior AlisonVanDerWege ran at State, the teamgave her their support by coveringher house with toilet paper andleaving signs in her room.We wanted to get her allpsyched up for state. We put signsin her room and in her house. Theguys team did it to my house whenwe had a team dinner there, so wegot the idea from them. CassieNelson brought her gym bag intoAlisons house and left it there, soAlison knew it was us, juniorRachel Shiffrin said.final outburstAt Regional, all seven varsityrunners got personal records intheir final meet on the Batchelorcourse. Their second place finishpropelled them to semistate.For all of us it was the last raceat Batchelor, and for me and Alisonit was the last ever. We were reallypsyched going in, and it was abeautiful day.
