They were able to seewhat the jobs really consisted of.You can see what goes on.Everybody works more than I thought. Ithought that a job was just like schooland when you leave work youre done,but these vets get called in all the time.You think it is all fun and games, but itisnt, senior Sarah Birch, who worked^Fve always likedworking with kids.Even beforeexploratory teaching,I knew I wanted tobe a teacher. -senior Heather Hoppieat Combs Veterinary Clinic, said.You get to learn all the stuff that youdont see when youre a kid. You see allthe trouble teachers go through gradingpapers and getting them back on time. Ithink teachers have a lot harder job thanwe give them credit for, senior TiffaneyAllgood said. Allgoodwas an exploratoryteacher for Mrs. RuthRichardson atBroadviewElementary.Taking part in aninternship andexploratory teachinghelped to solidify plansfor college.Ive always likedworking with kids.Even beforeexploratory teaching, I knew I wanted tobe a teacher. It has turned my head 100percent towards going for a degree [ineducation], Hoppie said.Seniors also learned more about theirareas of interest and what reallyhappened in the workplace.Senior Irah Modry-Caron, whointerned at The Herald-Times, said, It isprobably the best thing you can do. Itgives you a taste of whats out there. Youget to meet a lot of new people.
