The Panthers battled the area teamsto finish with a 3-4 record,despite the fact that most ofthe starting line up wasmoved up to support the varsity team during the season.The kids did a great joband always gave 110 percent, said coach RickSipes.For the freshman footballteam, the season was alearning experience, according to coach Paul Farmer.We had the expectations atthe start of the year of a non-winning season, but throughhard work, dedication, andperseverance, they changedthis attitude into a winningteam, said Farmer.The freshman team had a5-2 season, beating bothMartinsville and BloomingtonNorth. The panther offensewas led by quarterbackTravis Bowen, who threw fortwelve touchdowns, and receiver Brett Bays, whocaught most of them. Thelast game put everything together; it was our shiningmoment.
