CoachesSmith and McNichols saw their teamhave many problems during the 1974season, as the Panther reserves endedup with four wins and three losses.They opened the season with twovictories, then lost the next two toTerre Haute North and Terre HauteSouth. They played their best in thenext two games, crushing Mitchell andtaking Bloomington North 20-15. Theseason ended with a loss to a big andfast North Central team.Outstanding players were tailbackMike May, safety and end Jay True,and fullback Richard Hurt, all sophomores.The freshman team crushed everyopponent in sight on their way to anundefeated 5-0 season. Coaches KayHutsell and Terry Daugherty guided ateam that featured an explosive running attack and defense which shutout three of its opponents and neverallowed more than one touchdown ina game.92 FootballTOP: VARSITY FOOTBALL TEAM.
