Gettingthere on time was a problem South studentssolved in various ways.Senior Dennis Sego drove a Firebird, which he purchased with money from hisjob. He believes if you buy a car yourself, you appreciate it more; and youll take better care of it. But Sego is not unaccustomed to riding the bus. I rode the bus myfreshman and sophomore years, and therewere just too many people, he said.Problems in riding the bus included missing the bus, waiting for the bus during thewinter, and kids throwing things on the bus.Riding the bus is fun—there are kookypeople on it, said junior Cindy Raines. Shealso likes her bus driver and enjoys meetingnew people and talking with friends.Freshman Jayna Hazel enjoyed her dailywalk to school. A group of about 10friends meet, and we walk together, shesaid.Car pools were common among Southdrivers. Junior Butch Harris got a ride witha friend most mornings.
