Last year I didnt study at all, and Iwas getting worried about getting into colleges. But now that Ive checked around, Iknow I can get in, said one senior. Anotherhad thoughts along the same line: Im taking six classes, and Im also working veryhard. I think its worth it, though. Sometimes I feel sorry for myself when I see myfriends loafing around, but in the long run Ithink Ill be ahead. I also figure that I mightas well take the classes while they are free.Once you get into college, you can payaround $60-70 per hour for a class youcould have taken free in high school. On the other side, those who decided totake a light load seemed to be happy withtheir decision. At the end of last year, Iwas all signed up to take advanced mathand science classes; but then I thought a lotabout it and decided I really wouldnt needany of that information, so I pulled out rightin time, and Im glad I did.Concerning homework, senior ToddEnglander said, I never ever finish. I compromise with myself and say Ill finish in themorning. I study two or three hours eachnight, and I listen to the radio often.Another senior explained, I cant study inthe same place each night. I have to havesome variety. Ill study in my bedroom for acouple of nights, and then I just have tomove somewhere else.TOP RIGHT: During study hall andrelease periods, students spend theirtime in the library.
