And Mark and Rick harassing us. AndCarol being Carol. And then you know, same old tennis.Lauren: I would say that a typical practice involves lots of hard work but lots of fun. And we have a lot of laughs. And we talk about One Direction and SpongeBob.-How do you det focused for a match?Megan: To get focused for a match, we typically listen to some music such as One Direction and Justin Beiberand Jonas Brothers and Michael Jackson, cause hes the best. And Mike Posner. And we talk about our strategies for he match and what were gonna do to hopefully win.Courtney: I try and drown out the Jonas Brothers and One Direction. And then I talk to my partner about ourupcoming match.Lauren: Something that really helps me before our match is when we do our team cheer. Its really awesomeand we all get in a big huddle. And Abby Rogers usually says something inspirational.Vhat are you hovnd to achieve ths season?Taylor: Our goal is to beat South in sectionals, and then beat Columbus North at regionals.Vhat is the most dffcult part of competing in tennis?Megan: The most difficult part of competing in tennis is fighting when youre down and staying motivated and trying hard whenyou know the person has beat you in the past.Courtney: Dealing with the different factors, like wind and sun and just always fighting, cause the match can turn at any minute.Lauren: I would say that one of the hardest parts of competing in tennis is when you play someone youre really closely relatedto in skill level. You know you have to just keep going and keep fighting and every point matters.Sarah: I think that the hardest part of competing in tennis is when you have to play people that you know or your friends causeits kind of awkward sometimes. You dont want to be mean, but you want to be competitive.-How do you deal with the pressure of a crucial shot?Taylor: I try not to think about the score, or that I need to win this point really bad, I just treat it like any other point and stayfocused and stay calm.Lauren: I would say that you dont wanna think about it, you just wanna get all loose and stuff, and just try to focus but not toohard, because tennis is a really mental game and if you let your mind get all involved, it doesnt go well.Sarah: For a really important shot, you just need to not try to change anything, and just keep doing what works. If its beenworking so far, then its probably gonna keep working.-How do you support your teammates during a match?Courtney: Cheering and giving them mental support, like on breaks.Megan: I support my teammates by saying Good shot if they did something well, or saying Cmon, lets go! if theyre playingwell, all of that stuff.Vhat traditions does the tennis team have?Sarah: Some of our many traditions include the cheer. And also the basket, the whicker basket, full of treats. Carol Williamssaying thats the ticket and our profession Harry Potter names such as Courtney Long-Bottom or Dum-bell-dor or Loron orHermegany or Sarah Potter and Tudlor, Tudly. Oh! And our handshakes. They are legendary.
