Description:	Vhat makes North tennis stand out as a prodram?Taylor: Whats different about North is that were a really enthusiastic team and we always have a good time and we hangout with each other outside of the tennis season and were all just really close and enthusiastic about the team.Lauren: I would say that what makes us stand out as a program at North is, like Taylor said, were just really close as ateam and we go in there wanting to fight every match, we dont give up and we dont expect it to be easy, we just want to goout there and fight and try our best at every match, we dont give up no matter how good their ranking is.Vhat is somethnd peopk dont know about your team?Courtney: Most of us have a weird obsession with Harry Stiles, NOT including me, by the wayMegan: Most people dont know that were best friends outside of tennis and we do a lot together.Vhats an interesting story about your head coach?Courtney: I like to call Barb, our coach, Barbie, because shes married to Ken... get it? Barbie and Ken. Another coachnamed Rick, who has a strange obsession with Starwars, and we like to get him gifts like pop-up cards and blow up lightsabers. And our coach Barb really hates the song Aint No Mountain High Enough so we like to randomly break out in songon the bus and sing it to her.Lauren: Our coaches, Mark and Rick, we have interesting nicknames for them. We call Rick things like Rachael, Coach ManBeast, eccetera. And for Mark, we like to call him Marky-Mark, Markwal, like Norwal, Mark Walburg, its just, the possibilitiesare endless.Courtney, how do you plan to lye up your last season at North?Courtney: Definitely just have a lot of fun, I feel like were getting a lot closer this year and to win some crucial matches,like beating Columbus North, which weve done once and we want to do it again, and to beat South, and to win Sectionals.Vhats your favorite shot in tennis?Sarah: My favorite shot is the rowboat.Lauren: My favorite shot is when you unintentionally hit a ball and it taps the net and theycant get to it. And I love it. And it makes them look really funny because sometimes they falland skin their knee... and cryCourtney: My favorite is the overhead, or floater, because I like hitting people. Like RachaelMiller.Taylor: My favorite shot is when you have a really high shot to your forehand and you just hitit perfectly and they cant even get to it and its just awesome.Megan: Definitely the tweener because its so unexpected and youre like what are they doing? The tweener.Vhat do you tell yourself in your head whk youre competing?Courtney: I cant really say because its really inappropriate.Sarah: During my matches I usually sing One Direction to myself, in my head.Lauren: During my matches, if Im playing someone whos really mean, for no reason, I usuallysay something like Courtney says, but I wont repeat it, its not needed, urn but if theyre reallynice I try to be nice back, maybe like Sarah sings some One Direction, be happy, stuff like that.How do you deal with the pressure of not beind abk to talk to anyone eke durind the dame? Do you have any ward thnds you do?Megan: When Im playing doubles I have a partner to talk to, which is nice, but when Implaying singles I usually just talk to myself and think about what patterns Im working and whatFor a really important^^ho^fyou just need tonot try to change anything, and just keepdoing what works. Ifits been working sofar, then its probablygonna keep working.us StcId say that what makesand out as a programat North is, like Taylor said,were just really close as ateam and we go in therewanting to fight every match,we dont give up and we dontexpect it to be easy, we justwant to go out there andfight and try our best at everymatch, we dont give up nomatter how good theirranking is.peoplet know thatwere best friendsoutside of tennisand we do a lotOne last auestion, do you have a favorite memory of tennis ths year?Courtney: My favorite moment is when Belle and I were at the Jefferson tournament and we were doing ankle excursuses because she was hurt and I was being agreat friend and doing them with her.Sarah: My favorite tennis memory is when Courtney hit the basket and then Marky-Mark was like hit my shopping cart and it was really creepy.Lauren: My favorite memory, this is actually from last year, is when we went to Martinsville, and they have some pretty big rocks at Martinsville, so we took a giant rockwhen no one was looking, and we put it on the bus and we put ricks shiny white jacket over it and got it all dirty and we wrote an anonymous love letter to Rick sayingthat we got him a rock and we put Courtneys dads phone number on it and Rick called him thinking that it was a woman... and it wasnt so it was pretty funny. Andalso, I like it when were on bus rides and we give Taylor ticktacks and they fall out of her mouth.Taylor: My favorite tennis memory is after the tournaments last year we went to Panera and we were all slap happy after a really long day and we were just laughingthe whole entire time and it was just really funCourtney: My favorite memory, not of this year, was when I was playing doubles with my sister at South and we both hit two girls, it was awesome and we wonWegS^^avontememo^stneHght^^ stuffed ice downeveryorTssnTtandTwas really fun and were all really having agood bonding experience.V^^5<^o
