The cheerleaders were practicing for their upcoming trip to Orlando for the secondyear in a row.NationalsFor the second consecutive year the North Cheerleading squadtraveled to Nationals in sunny Florida. While there, the teamcompeted in the medium varisty division, which is the divisionthat has the largest group of teams.The National Cheerleading Association National competitionhas three rounds. First a team must advance out of preliminaries, something the North team wasnt able to do lastyear. However, the squad made it through prelims andsemifinals to compete in the finals.The team went on to place seventh out of the 60 teams in its division.The seniors were very excited about doing so well at nationalstheir final year. It was awesome to see our team pull together our rountineand (make) it that far at nationals/ senior Alison Grubb said.But even with the high finish some are already thinking ofwhat to do better for next years competition. We expect more of ourselves, as do the coaches, and everyoneneeds to get better, sophomore Carly Fulton said.Cheerleading 99 |
