V.In the summer of 2002, the North Symphonic and JazzBands travelled to six European countries over a twoweek period. Their first stop was Paris, France wherethe bands visited famous landmarks such as the EifelTower, Notre Dame, and the Louvre. From there, theytravelled through several other small towns in Francebefore moving onto Switzerland to play a concert forpeople there. Next, the bands went to Venice, Italy tosample some Italian cuisine and spend time there. Afterthey left Italy, they went to Austria where they performedan outdoor concert and visited Mozarts home. While inAustria, they also attended the Mid-Europe Conferenceconcert where the Symphonic band put on an amazingperformance. Germany was their next stop. Here, theysaw the first Nazi concentration camp and found it to be avery sombering place. The last place they visited beforereturning to the states was The Netherlands. They visitedAnne Franks house and went to the North Sea JazzFestival22 |
