Description: Girls Cross CountryThe 2002 girls cross country team had a terrific season, finishing with a final record of 4-1 in dual meets,placing them at 4th in a competitive conference. The Cougars came in 2nd at the sectional meet, 2nd at regionals,and 3rd in the semi-state competition. This was enough to advance to the state meet, where the Cougars finished17th among the top twenty.It was great to be at the state meet for the third consecutive year, said senior Aubrey Williams. Runningcross country is one of the hardest things Ive ever done, but being able to be a part of such a great team has beenwonderful. Ill never forget howclose our team was, and all thefun we had together.Williams, along with fellowseniors Ginny Curtis, LindsayStafford and Lindsey Kinder,junior Taylour Burton,sophomore Sarah Scott andfreshman Sarah Whiteman allran in the state meet for theCougars.
