Description: Boys Cross CountryThe 2002 boys cross country team proved that age doesnt always matter. We had a great year, and didbetter than we thought we could with this young of a team, said senior Charles Williams. The varsity cross countryteam consisted of 4 seniors, 6 juniors, 8 sophomores, and 4 freshmen.The Cougars didnt have any trouble pulling off the wins. The boys ended their season with an undefeateddual meet record of 5-0. The team also ran very well in the Brown County and Martinsville Invitationals, placingsecond and third, respectively, and were third in Conference Indiana. They also ran off with the sectional, regional,and semi-state championships. The Cougars ended their season with a 10th place finish at the state meet.Michael Russo reminisces about the season, Cross country was fun. If you ignore the blistering heat, repeatKs, morningpractices, andskimpy uniforms,its really prettyrelaxing.
