——III ••<!-ki-Miaas Panther Hysteria IllustratesThe 1961-62 reserve cagers ended their season satisfactorily with 8 victories and 10 defeats. The team lostseveral games by only a small margin. They faced suchteams as Martinsville, Vincennes, New Albany, andWashington. The melting pot of the former freshmanplayers was strengthened by two reserve returnees,Danny Sparks and Terry Hays. The primary handicapfor the cubs was the fact that the boys came from thethree junior high schools, and they had never beenexposed to the keen competition which faced them thisyear. Coach Lexie Mills feels certain that experiencegained this year will prove to be a great advantage forthe cagers in 1963.Larry Sowders, varsity eager, gets action under way with a field goal attemptagainst rival Columbus.Indicative of the student bodysschool spirit throughout the basketball season, anxious eyes expressPanther concern during the Sectional pep-session.65 |
