The club also provided yell leaders for thevarsity, reserve, and freshman team games. Each member ofthe Cheerleaders Club received a chevron, providing he hadbeen active in the club during the year. T-shirts, numerals,letters, and a gold pin were the awards for which the members were striving. The club was open to any student whowished to lead yells. The sponsor this year was Mrs. Spilker.The Bloomington High School Girl Ushers, chosen fromall four high school classes, ushered for all of the homebasketball games. The group was sponsored by Mrs. Ida End-wright and was largely Girl Supervised. The girls in theusher program enjoyed the dignity of their jobs and, in addition to rendering service to their school, gained worthwhileexperience. Linda Phillips was the head usher.
