These events, however, are merely theSaturnalia or some other function of the LatinClub. Any student who is taking or has takenLatin may join this foreign language club.During the year several talks, discussions, andmovies concerning the Roman way of life andthe Latin language itself were given at variousmeetings of the club. These meetings helped togive the members an insight into the life of thecitizens of old Rome, and they helped to give thestudent a better knowledge of the Latin languageand its influence on our own language. Certainpoints about the customs and people of Romewhich would not be discussed in class are learnedin Latin Club meetings.Bob Ellis was elected to lead the club this year, with Becky Bryant serving as vice-president.Secretary-treasurer was Karel Brown and TeresaEllis was the Optimist correspondent. Mrs. RubyReavis is the sponsor.
