Frye, traveled to the Wilevfootball game and marched at the Ellettsville Fall Festival. Also this year, the groupwas given the special honor of being the first band ever to play at the general assembly of the Indiana State Teachers Convention.Being an active group in school life, the band presented several convocationprograms, and participated in all pep sessions, basketball and football games, the annual spring commencement exercises, and the Winter Festival. They alsopresented a television program and a spring concert.A feeling of keen competition is created among the band members by havingchallenge days, at which they compete for sectional seating. Band students may alsoadvance their rating in the merit system and at the same time earn full credit byparticipating in the solo and ensemble programs.Page 52 This page sponsored by THE WIGWAM —■ 612 S.
