CUDDYCAdm in istrationSuperintendent Binford and Mr. Templeton, acting principal and assistant principal, respectively, maintained thegoodwill of the faculty and students alike for their able andwilling leadership during Dr. Simons absence.Friendly deans in whom students feel free to confide their problemsat any time are a necessity for a large high school.Mr. Cuddy, who was dean of boys, is now serving in the Army. Mr.Myers has been selected to take over his duties. Mrs. Kreuger, genialfriend of students, is dean of girls.FacultyThe faculty carried on the normal school program between continualinterruptions such as: physical exams, aptitude tests, special convocations,and placement tests for the armed forces. During school hours facultymembers trained students to meet the problems of tomorrow, and afterschool hours the faculty used its free time to meet the immediate problemsof today by engaging in Red Cross First Aid Classes, Home Nursing andhelping with the nation-wide rationing programs.Mr. James retired at the end of the fall semester and was replacedby Mr. Anderson. The other new teachers are Mrs. Crouse, Miss Crum,Miss Dressel, Mr. Gilkey, Mrs. Harbaugh, Miss Hopewell, Miss Mundy,Mi-ss Rector, Miss Rowen, Mrs. Van Hook, Mr. Van Horn, and Mr. Rust.Guidance in vocational placement and curricula choices was under thedirection of Miss Dodds and Mrs. Peters. |
