Six lettermen had returnedto the cinder wars to be aided andabetted by some outstanding numeralwearers. In the dash events were Ralph Cummings, Don Sparks, Zane Cannon, andRuss Hardisty. The latter, in a practicespin, did the 60 yards within one-tenthof a second of the state record.Russell Brcwn and Garth Duncan weredoing the hurdle hopping. In the middle distance group we foundLefty Galloway, Bob Smith, and HowardMitchell, with the Hayden Bros., Boband Ray, doing the full distances. On the field, Ray Steffey pole vaultedand Lefty Galloway and Ralph Cummingsdid the broad jump.
