Among these activities were theindoor circus known as the Gym-Gems, the Round-the-World Cruise which typified music of variouscountries, and numerous public appearances at thegrade schools, convocations, and ball games. With the proceeds from the Plunko Peanutcircus, the parents membership cards, and the football balloon sale, new capes and instruments werepurchased. Since the band now has a uniform appearance, the marching formations have been greatlyimproved. The formations for Mr. Ghost Goes ToTown and Harvest Moon will long be rememberedas clever ideas worked into marching formation bythe group. As usual, Bloomington participated in the stateband and orchestra contests and was represented atthe annual music clinic in which a concert is givenby an all-state band and orchestra. The selectionsare the required numbers of the state contests, andthe directors are from large music schools.
