■The Girls Athletic Association is an organization of girlswho are especially interested in participating in athletic events.By variety in the sports offered, the club reached a great number of girls. It afforded healthy, enjoyable, and worthwhilesocial contacts, and at the same time, presented an opportunity for cooperation and leadership. Although many girlsdeveloped considerable skill, girls did not need to be expertsto participate in G.A.A. The organization stresses intramuralcompetition, and through its point system offered an opportunity for earning awards. These awards were presented atthe annual Awards Banquet. This year the G.A.A. had a newsponsor, Mrs. Ida Endwright, who had been teaching inSpencer. Sports offered this year included soccer, speedball,volleyball, swimming, basketball, bowling, and softball. Localactivities of the year have included a kick-off picnic, a playday, a Rip Van Winkle party, a party for new members, aMother-Daughter tea, B.H.S. track day, a formal initiation,an awards banquet, and a basketball dance. The girls alsoattended play days at other schools. They attended a playnight at University School.
