Description: Interscholastic DebatingBLOOMINGTON High School has engaged in but two interscholastic debates this year, andunfortunately, came out loser in both.A team was sent to Nashville, Brown County, during the first semester with high hopes of winningfrom the little village, but it was found that good debaters grow just as well in the woods as in the cities. After a snappy contest featured by lassoeing movement oratory, the natives were awarded the decisionby a vote of 2 to 1.In a dual debate between B. H. S. and Greencastle, the representatives from the home of oratorycaptured both contests. What our school needs in debating is interest and enthusiasm. It matters little whether or notour teams win; whichever way the decisions go, they are gaining valuable experience and laying thefoundation for future success.Image alt-text: Four black-and-white photographs, all taken outdoors.
