She ges the skirt successfully draped on herdummy. when she is called away by domestic troubles in the kitchen.Some friends call and find him standing there in his wifes skirt, reading anewspaper. At first he does not see them; during this interval they discuss hisprobable insanity and pity his wife for having such a cross to bear. He turnsaround to run from the room but the skirt impedes him, causing him to make hisexit on his hands and knees. Mrs. Dabbleton then appears but does not understand the insinuations which her friends make to his state.The doctor comes, Mr. Dabbleton becomes still more suspected by thosewho think him mentally unbalanced, but his wife finally sees through themystery and the farce ends with Mr. Dabbleton defeated, a victim of TheEconomical Boomerang.Page Eighty-six |
