Description: |
French ClubThe French Club is a new organization in the school thisyear. It consists of the thirteen members of the Frenchclass. Thirteen is usually considered an unlucky number, butit is not so regarded by the French class. The name of theclub is La Classe de bijous, which means The Class ofJewels. This seems a very appropriate name for this wasthe first class to study Latin in the graded schools ofBloomington and also the first to study French in theBloomington High School, and it was only on their meritsthat they were granted these privileges. The French stu-dents, as yet, do not know enough of the French languageto converse well, so the meetings are conducted in English. In these meetings reports are given by various membersof the club, concerning French life, manners, and customs, and in this way a better idea of the French people as awhole is received.MEMBERSDorothy Hopper, PresidentGladys Jones, SecretaryAlice AdamsSibyl BrunerEdna CorrNewell DoddsLavona HenryWilliam McDonaldColeman MooreOlive PotterWilliam ReedGladys ReinchPauline SiebenthalHonorary, Miss RayPage Sixty |
