Letter from Albert L. Fisher to Jesse Dorsey, June 27, 1942.

Description:	Fisher thanks Dorsey for the letters and keeping him updated on things happening at home. He had a tiresome ride on the ship and that Dorsey would understand since he did it too in World War I. Fisher believes Dorsey has a good combination for the girls softball team with Mr. and Mrs. Weber. The U.S.O. in California was very nice and it had all kinds of games, books and a nice place to write letters.This letter is part of a large group of letter written to or by Jesse G. Dorsey during World War II. Dorsey ran the community house for the Louisville Cement Company in Speed, Indiana. Being a veteran of World War I, he knew the value of providing support to the troops. He wrote letters and sent the company newsletter (Speedometer) to several hundred service men and women during the war. The community house also hosted weekend parties for soldiers from Fort Knox, Kentucky during the war.
