Adolph Mueller WWI Scrapbook

Description: This scrapbook holds a collection of photos, correspondence, military documents, postcards, maps, insignia, dog tags and other items related to Adolph Mueller’s World War I U. S. Army service between 1918 and 1919. It contains a few photographs from his time at Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana shortly before he entered the Army. The scrapbook measures 11 ⅝” X 16”. The front and back are covered in black cloth. The front cover has the word scrapbook embossed in gold. The scrapbook is post bound and held together with black cloth ties. It contains a total of 86 pages. The first 8 pages are blank as is the final page. Adolph F. Mueller was born in Indianapolis on January 27, 1896 to John Mueller and Caroline (Schroeder) Resner Mueller, He attended Manual Training High School in Indianapolis. He was living in Crawfordsville, Indiana and was a student at Wabash College when he registered for the draft in 1917. Mueller served in the 3rd Battalion, 43rd Artillery in southern France during WWI. After the war, he taught school in Noblesville, Indiana, served as principal there, and later worked fro an insurance company in Evansville, Indiana.
