415. Howard Mansion, 1937

Description: The Howard family home at 1101 E. Market Street in Port Fulton, Indiana (now Jeffersonville) is shown during the 1937 flood. This image shows how the water has risen above the wall around the mansion, flooded the park and is half way up the first floor. The first floor itself is almost a full floor above ground level. The trees around it are bare and debris can be seen in the waters. One house on High Street is standing to the right and rear above the mansion.
