631. America at Rose Island

Description: The Steamboat America is docked at Rose Island and passengers are disembarking. In the front left corner a man and woman can be seen walking rapidly away from and ahead of the rest of the crowd. The men are dressed in suits, or at least dress shirts and ties. The women are in light summer frocks and most men and women wear hats. The entrance sign of iron works spelling out Rose Island set in three stone pillars is slightly off center to the right. At the left, between the island and the steamer can be seen a small boat shed, with two rowboats perched on top of it. In the distance is the Kentucky side of the river.
