Description: |
The Propylaeum building, completed around 1890, is located at 1410 North Delaware Street in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Propylaeum became an association in 1888 and it sought to provide the public, particularly the women of Indianapolis, with educational, literary, artistic, and other cultural opportunities. In 1923, the city purchased the Propylaeums old building, located at 17 East North Street, in order to begin construction on the War Memorial Plaza. As a result, the Propylaeum moved into their new building, where, as of 2018, they remain today. |
