Cyclorama building

Description: This photograph shows the Cyclorama, pictured behind the Miller building, which was located at the northwest corner of Market and Illinois streets in Indianapolis, Indiana. Built in 1888, the Cyclorama was designed to display The Battle of Atlanta, a large painting of a Civil War battle that was 50 feet high and 400 feet long. After stops in Detroit and Minneapolis, the painting was displayed at the Cyclorama in Indianapolis from 1888 to 1892. The Cyclorama building was eventually demolished in 1903 to make room for the Indianapolis Traction Terminal.
