U.S. Courthouse and Post Office building

Description: The U.S. Courthouse and Post Office, renamed the Birch Bayh Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse in 2003, is located at 46 East Ohio Street in Indianapolis, Indiana. The building, designed by John Hall Rankin and Thomas Kellogg, was constructed from 1902 to 1905 and originally featured a U-shaped layout. The building was enclosed during an expansion in 1938. The U.S. Courthouse and Post Office is an example of Beaux Art architecture and is noted for its elaborate interior murals, mosaics, and stained glass.
