Paul has been moving around a lot. He has been involved in battles but has never seen the enemy. He tells of an attack they did on 3000 Chinese soldiers who were marching to Soul. The Chinese thought the Americans had left Soul. They ended up in a place called Palace Playground. There was a large palace there. They took turns sleeping in the bed. Paul is in a artillery battalion.This letter is part of the Jesse G. Dorsey Korean War Correspondence collection. Dorsey was the Director of Recreation and Welfare and editor of the Speed-O-Meter newsletter for the Louisville Cement Company. Dorsey began sending monthly letters and the Speed-O-Meter to local service personnel during WWII. He continued this through the Korean War and for sometime afterwards. |
