Korean War Letter from Marvin R. Bottorff to Jesse G. Dorsey 29 Sep 1953

Description: Marvin is currently stationed in Japan but had to go to Korea. He went to survey for a site to locate radar equipment. He has been to several countries overseas and thinks Korea is the most primitive. He does not see what is being fought over. The smell of the villages was terrible. His squadron moved to Fuchu, Japan near Tokyo. They got new barracks. He likes the NCO club because of the foreign beers. The weather is mostly rain and a typhoon went by. This letter is part of the Jesse G. Dorsey Korean War Correspondence collection. Dorsey was the Director of Recreation and Welfare and editor of the Speed-O-Meter newsletter for the Louisville Cement Company. Dorsey began sending monthly letters and the Speed-O-Meter to local service personnel during WWII. He continued this through the Korean War and for sometime afterwards.
