They purchased it from J. Sibray of Production Stores.PAM MOORE, Junior Clerk in Stores Records, became engaged to Patrick Wigginton on May 4, 1973. Patrick is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Allen M. Wigginton, Sr. of Georgetown Indiana. Al works in the Production Planning Department. Pam is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Wells of Lanesville, Indiana.SHIRLEY TRIMPE, Clerk Senior in Production and Manufacturing Stores, had a wedding in the family on June 1. Her daughter Marilyn Trimpe, who was recently selected the Nurse of the Year, was married to Mr. Randall Wolpert of Jeffersonville, Indiana. The bride wore a long white pinafore style dress with ruffles embroidered in blue and yellow. She carried long stemmed white roses mixed with blue spider mums. The Matron of Honor, Mrs. Donna Elliott of Clarkville, Indiana was the brides only attendant. She wore a long medium blue dress. Her bouquet was blue spider mums. The grooms brother, Mark Wolpert of Jeffersonville, was the best man. The mother of the bride wore a pale green double knit dress, with beige leather shoes. Her corsage was white roses. Shirley is a Sellersburg resident. Following the ceremony there was a buffet dinner for the family and guests at a Sellersburg restaurant. After a short wedding trip the couple will be at home in Clarksville.RALPH AMOS, Foreman in Stores, took his wife, two daughters and one son to Nolin Lake, ninety miles south of Louisville, near Wax, Kentucky and caught about 40 black bass. One weighed between three and four pounds. Ralph doesnt tell us what the others weighed. They came home for daughter Marcias graduation, then returned to the lake again.BRENDA ISON and SUE ADAMS, Clerk Seniors in Production and Manufacturing Stores, and LENDA ISON, Secretary to J. P. Carpenter, Finished Production (Building 2531) all leave July 14th for a two week tour in Fabulous Waikiki, the fun capital of the world. They will travel to Hawaii by United Air Lines Jet, with inflight movies, meals and champagne served aloft. They will have 13 nights and 14 days at the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani Hotel located in the center of Waikiki. They will receive a Flower Lei greeting on arrival. They will have the services of an Aloha Hawaii Travel escort guide and will be free as birds in paradise.WANDA REESE, Senior Clerk in Stores, working for TOM MERRI-FLORENCE, contd.MAN, took a maternity leave of absence in March and her baby, Justin William, was born on March 26th, 1973 at the Methodist Evangelical Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. Wanda returned on the 29th of May and we were all glad to have her back in the office. We missed her.Materials Control and Production Planning had a new employee beginning April 9, 1973. R. P. BIR, trans-fered from Magazine Service and Transportation where he was a powder helper at Gate #2. Mr. Bir is now an Estimator.HELEN WERLE, Clerk Junior returned to Traffic and Purchasing April 1973. Helen left in June of 1972 and during her absence, she traveled to Maine, Canada, and Fayetteville, North Carolina. She was transferred to Quality Assurance, Second Shift the last part of May. We miss her.GIRL JOCKEY is daugher of AL WIGGINTON in Production Planning Department. Marlene Wigginton, 22, is making her mark as an apprentice jockey at Latonia. She weighs exactly 100 Ibs. and is 56. Marlene began galloping horses when she was 18. In the Courier-Journal & Times March 19, 1973 it says, The other night she sent Devils Gulch between horses rounding the turn for home, got into some trouble, took her mount outside and won the race, recalled Mike Battaglia, the publicity director at Latonia. Miss Wigginton, who is long on spunk, can ride at 100 pounds, and yet has the strength to handle a powerful 1,000 pound animal. Als son Pete Wigginton is Camera Man at Churchill Downs.New employee, DONNA BYARS, Clerk Junior began working in Production and Manufacturing Stores on June 6th.SUGGESTION AWARDSSeveral of your fellow employees cashed in on their ideas this month. They submitted them in writing as suggestions - the Suggestion Award Committee found them to be acceptable - and the ICI America Award Program provided monetary recompense.Photos of the lucky winners appear below. They availed themselves of the opportunity to enlarge their family fortunes. Why not join them?[photograph]Production Division Sew, Piece, and Inspect Operator Barbara Nolot, shown at right above, suggested that adding two additional lines on each side of the black powder opening on the 8 Howitzer Igniter would eliminate the need for marking the size of opening. Barbara was presented with an award of $177.12 for submitting this suggestion. Bag Manufacturing Foreman Aggie Herrell, left above, presented the check to Mrs. Nolot.[photograph]In the above photo, Production Division Weight, Load, and Sew Operator N. K. Mrs. Waynescott suggested using a heavy vinyl for covering the 105MM bins. [photograph]Shown at right above, Production Division Maintenance Mechanic Howard T. Dallas suggested a shaft and brake. This made possible precision print and cut for the 175MM tab. Mr. Howard received an ICI America suggestion award of $39.54 for his idea.
