Grace Lutheran Church, interior

Description: The First English Evangelical Lutheran Church began meeting in 1872 and constructed the first building two years later. By 1902 the congregation took the name of Grace Lutheran and the next year dedicated a second church which served until 1927. The building has always been located on the southeast corner of Marion and Ninth Streets. This photograph of the fourth structure was dedicated on December 13, 1959 and still serves the Grace Lutheran congregation today. It was designed by Benjamin Franklin Olson of Chicago and Robert Lieberenz of Elkhart.
