Island Park, flooded

This photograph shows Island Park when the St. Joseph and Elkhart Rivers overflowed their banks. Melting snows and spring rains would cause the rivers to swell. Island Park was subject to annual flooding at the location where the two rivers meet. This photograph was taken during the flooding of March 1908. |
