Description: |
In the Untied States, kids enjoyed ice skating for fun before skating and ice hockey organized and became competitive sports in the early 20th century. These skates fitted over boots and clipped onto the soles. Made in Connecticut about 1875, these skates do not have the clip to keep the heel in the skate. The skating season lasted as long as the pond or lake stayed frozen! |
