Description: |
This object is called a shuttlecock and is hit by rackets in the game of badminton. Sports played with a shuttlecock and racquets probably developed in ancient Greece around 2000 years ago, but were also played in India and China. Today, the game is popular all over the world, including Brazil, where teams in the Brazilian Badminton Confederation play internationally. However, East and Southeast Asia continue to dominate the sport in world championships. This hand-made shuttlecock was created by a child in Brazil in the 1970s, most likely for a friendly neighborhood match. |
