Julia lunch box

Description: Julia, a situation comedy starring Diahann Carroll, ran on NBC from September 17, 1968 through May 25, 1971. It was the first television series since Beulah in the early 1950s to star a black woman, and the first to star a black woman in a role other than as a domestic servant. Julia was a widowed mother working as a nurse and living in a modern, integrated apartment building. The network carried the show as part of its emphasis on relevant programming. It feared protests about the show, but none developed. This 1968 lunchbox features various scenes from the show.
