Description: |
This aquatic reptile had a very crocodile-like head. It inhabited ponds and swamps in environments that resembled Florida’s climate today. It could grow to twelve feet long, and had powerful back legs and a snout full of sharp teeth. It probably lay in wait for its prey, much like the crocodilians of today. Remains of this animal have been found in Western North America and in Europe. |
