Description: This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt: 1) Ambulance sent to 421 Club at 421 West North Street to assist a man having an epileptic seizure. 2) Station 1 called to report their power had been restored, radios tested. 3) Caller Mike Evans asked to verify salary for a first year fireman, $6300 per year. 4) Caller asked if a dispatcher had talked to a woman looking for the culprit of a false alarm fire report. Hendricks (likely Robert P. Hendricks) investigated. 5) Fire reported at School 67 on West Walnut. 6) Conversation about investigating false alarms at 4912 Orion Avenue. 7) Engine sent to 203 South Ritter to assist 5-year-old with finger stuck in his toy train. 8) Truck 1 out of service in the repair shop. 9) Caller asked how to complain about air pollution caused by neighborhood trash burning. Dispatcher transferred to fire prevention bureau.
