This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt: 1) Ambulance sent to 421 Club at 421 West North Street to assist a man having an epileptic seizure. 2) Several callers trying to reach police department. 3) Station 1 called to report their power had been restored, radios tested. 4) Caller Mike Evans asked to verify salary for a first year fireman, $6300 per year. 5) Caller asked if a dispatcher had talked to a woman looking for the culprit of a false alarm fire report. Hendricks (Robert P. Hendricks) investigated. 8) Fire reported at School 67 on West Walnut. 9) Conversation between dispatcher Ed Kegeris and caller identified as Ernie about false alarms at 4912 Orion Avenue and a neighbor who is planning to come listen to recordings of false alarm calls to see if she recognizes the voice. 12) Engine sent to 203 South Ritter to assist a mother whose 5-year-old son stuck his finger in his toy train. 13) Truck 1 out of service in the repair shop. 14) Caller asked how to complain about air pollution caused by neighborhood trash burning.
