This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt: 412 N. Bradley rear garage. Dispatched Engine 20, Engine 27, Truck 27, District 6 at 2:38pm; 3000 E. 56ST Street gas tank explosion in Washington Township. Jack from Indianapolis called the Washington Township Fire Department.; Two firemen with minor injuries reported at the second alarm fire.; 2150 Northwestern, fire outside of the AAA Warehouse was put out.; Bridge over Prospect Street east of the Boulevard by the gas company, the ties were on fire.; Butler University Library fire alarm going off but no fire.; 771 Massachusetts Ave. Squad 7 dispatched at 5:18pm; 3501 Cold Springs Rd. golf course clubhouse calling because of an unusual odor coming from an electrical stand. Smoke visible. Engine 30 dispatched at 6:54pm; PI accident at St. Clair and Alabama. Squad 7 dispatched at 7:29pm; Injured woman at Keystone and 30th at the All Night Market. Squad 14 dispatched at 7:32pm; 38th and Georgetown child fell from car. Ambulance and police on the way, Engine 33 dispatched at 7:32pm; Officer from the Sherriff’s office calling trying to locate Eddie Fox, who works at one of the stations. Put through to Chief Fulmer; Puppy in the sewer at Butler and Winston Place.; 220 Hendricks Place, report of a residential fire. Engine 11, Engine 7, Truck 7 and District 4 dispatched at 7:49pm; |
