Description: This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt:1. Ambulance at 1112 North Ewing, man with possible heart attack. 2. Woman at 110 North College Apartment 3, reporting man trying to kill her. Police dispatched. 3. Taxi cab on fire, engine out of service. 4. Man calling about taking woman to the hospital, wanted information on where to take her. 4. Large fire at 2300 Block of East Washington, automobile on fire. 5. 5501 Rawls terrace, ambulance request for unconscious man. 6. 946 west 42nd street, violent man in a diabetic coma, request for police and ambulance dispatch. 7. Boxcar of trash on Dooley Avenue is on fire again, instructed to pull it to Minnesota & Keystone Avenue by Mutual Mail Company for firefighters to respond. 8. Call from guard for fire engine to Riley Tar and Chemical Company to fight fire in power plant on 1500 South Tibbs Street. 9. Dispatcher requests station prepare chemical foam for Riley firefighting. 10. Call to arrange ambulance support for Riley chemical fire. 11. Multiple calls coordinating response to Riley fire.
