Description: |
Harrison reports that he believes the Prophets influence over the various tribes is declining. He gives the recent murder of some Kickapoo and Sac Indians by the Winnebago Indians and other causes of jealousy between the Prophets followers as examples. He states that Captain Crosss detachment will arrive in a few days and that he would have called out the militia had he been authorized to do so. He thinks the establishment of a new post up the Wabash River is important. Eustis, William, 1753-1825 |
