Indiana State Federation of Colored Womens Club, Indianapolis, circa 1927

Description: Group portrait of members of the Indiana State Federation of Colored Womens Club outside in front of their club house. Organized in 1904 by Lillian Thomas Fox, the clubs purpose was to improve education, health, and living standards for African Americans. The club house was located at 2034 N. Capitol Avenue was opened in 1927.
